NEW YORK indulged in some selling for profits Monday and thus cut short what started out as an- other healthy rise in stock mar- ket prices.

This was the second consecu- tive Monday decline. It also was the first since last Monday.

Prices opened with an up- ward surge just as in so many sessions of the last four weeks Demand for selected aerospace issues helped. The high point came around noon. After that price levels gradually retreated.
