Sudden Deaths. | THR people of Sonmerside were greaisy shocked and grieved jast evening on hear- ing of the very sudden death of the wife of one of the most’prominent townsmen— Mrs. David Rogers. died while sitting in her chair reading a hewspaper. Just now the English newspapers which were expressing alarm at the growing naval strength of France find comfort in the columns of the Paris Jowrnal des debats. The great republican organ declares that the French fleet is in every way inferior to that of England, and thatthe French ships are rotten to the core. The article concludes with the assertion that the French navy would require an expenditure of millions of francs to make it.equal to that of which the Pall Mall Gazette has spoken so contemptecusly.
