at present in the Province to make an inspection tour of several creamcry and dairy
plants on the Island.
Heading the delegates are Ed- win Lockhart and Warren Mac- Gray of the Dairy Division of the Truro Agriculture College.
They are here for the purpose of visiting as many of the Is- land's creameries as their two- day visit will permit.
They will first visit butter and grading lnSpection rooms in the Agriculture Laboratories i n Charlottetown and the Central Creameries where they will see the modern continuous

The death of D. Jerome Gil- lis, Charlottetown. occurred early this morning in Montreal following a surgical operation performed there last Thursday.
The 58-year-old businessman was a partner in William Con- don and Sons Woolen Mills and

Active in many organizations, he was at the time of his death vice-chairman of the Workmcn's Compensation Board of REL, a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Basilica Men‘s Choir.

The fact that the Confederation centenary would be celebrated in this Province'that year added considerable weight to the pres- sure exerted by the local execu‘ tlivc, he said. adding that Mr.

Business Recovery ls Reported Underway, ‘
MONTREAL (GP) — Some of the economic indicators now show that business recovery is under- way, says the annual report of the Canadian Chamber of Com- merce, prepared for presentation to the Chamber’s annual meeting.
The report backs up this gen- erally optimistic view with a re- citation of favorable develop- ments. but sees continuing dan- gers ahead. '
It terms employment prospects a “clouded feature" and at the same time sees inflation as an unsolved problem.
It envisages a federal govern- ment deficit this current fiscal year of $900,000,000 or more. with no present indication 'of improve- ment in the following year. OFFER ALTERNATIVE ‘
As alternatives to the. deficit situation it names either reduced government spending or higher taxes.
Of the employment situation it says:
“It is unlikely that many of the fire predictions and about next winter‘s unemployment will in fact occur, but it does appear that the business recovery now envisaged will not reduce the number of unemployed in 1958-59
