Resolved that it is the opinion of this Meeting, that the House of Assembly should embrace the present favourable opportunity of Repealing the present permanent Reve'. nue Laws, by taking the payment ofthe Ci- vil List, some One, Two, or Three years here after, thereby seCUring the Independence of the Colony and the prosperity ofits agricul. ture;and commerce. 2nd. BENEVOLENT IRISH SOCIETY.

The Eight Annual Meeting ofthe Benevolent Irish society, took place at the house of Mr- John Costen, on Monday the llth inst. a nu- merous assemblage of the members were pre- sent.

The Accounts of the Treasurer being laid before the Meeting, were audited and passed. It appeared that the snmfof 311. 9:. M. was paid to poor and indigent of different nations during the past year. The Balance handed over to Treasurer, and a vote of thanks given to the President and other oﬂicers of the So. ciety, for their services during the past year.
