ACCIDENT AT NOR-TB BEDEQUE - what might have pmven a much more serious ac- cident was that ivhi-ch occurred at North Bedeque on Thursday even- ing. John smurman of that place had started out to bring home the cows from pasture. and was accom- panied by another young man. William Mallett. who took along with him a .22 calibre rifle. He was adiustiing the trigger safety de- ilce when the rifle accidentally discharged. the bullet passing through the. fleshy part of Schur- man's leg. but fortunately mlsslflfl the bone, The services of Dr. Henry Moyse of Sunmerslde were quickly secured who dressed the wound. —ANNUAI. ULEABY SCHOOL MEETING — The annual meeting of the O'Leary School section was held on Tuesday night. June 28th at the school. The chairman was Mr. George Matthews. The secre- tary was Mr. E. B. Ellis and the recording secretary was Mr. I-Iarry MacWilliam. The reports of the Trustees and Auditor show that O‘Leary School section is in splen- did shape. Mr. Claude Jelly was elected Trustee in place of Mr. Ira Ellis, retiring this year. Mr. Albert Noonan WES re-appointed Auditor. The teachers’ supplement will be the same as last year, the sum of $1350.00 being voted to be divided among the four teachers, $450 for the principal, $350 for the vice- principal and $275 for each of the other two teachers. Tenders will be called for the position of janitor. The sum of $2500.00 was voted to pay outstanding obligations. Mr. .l'. M.
