Sir Morell McKerae, the distinguished physician whose serious illness vih bron

yesverday. Sir Morell McK+nze was born st Leytonstone, Essex, in 1837. He was educated at the London Hospital and the medical schools at Paris and Vienna, and received the degree of M. D at the University of London’ Sir Morell was fer many years ph:sician to the Londen Hospital and lecturer at that institution on diseases of the throat. He was seot for by the German Crown Prince un the occasion of the develop- ment of alarming symptoms of disease in Hie Imperial Higonees’ larynx, and in recogni- tion of his service# to her august relative. Her Majesty the Queen made him a ba: onet. Subsequently, the Hmperor conferred upon Sir Morell the Grand Crossof the Hohen- zllern Order with the Star of the saine order. Sir Morell is the author of several standard works on diseases of the throat.
