{n the House of Commons yesterday Mr. Davies moved for correspondence, etc., re- lating to a claim for compensation or dam- age made by Jvhn F. Robertson for injur- ies sustained by him on the Prince Edward Island Railway. He maintained that as the case Was a deserving one, whether the law was or was not strictly with Mr. Rob- ertson, and that as such the case was one which the Government ought to consider. This Sir John Thompson said he would do. The motion. passed.

Denison in certain declara- tions or allegedfatiidavits read by Somerville the other evening was again brought up in the House by Denison on motion to go in- to supply. Denison showed that there was no foundation in the charges and pro- duced the original documents to show this. A long debate took place on this, Sir John Thompson stating that if Somerville did net retract he would cffer a resclutior. on the matter, Somerville offercd a retrac- tion. ,
