MACF, three of them very attractive girls with a male companion. They are internationally famous roller skaters and were filmed in one of the great’ pictures made in Hollywood. Stcadlly built up through the years it h now looked on as one of the outotaad-ing outdoor amuse- ment spectacles in Canada and has oven been compared very favorably with some of the best in the U. S. A. Sparing no expense the management has brought high wire acts, stage acts and Revues from such leading centres as New York, Chicago and San Francisco. Some of these are of European origin and have been shown for the first time to Canadian audiences here.

Prince Edward Island has been called the Kentucky o! Canada, principally because o! the great racing programs pat on at OLD BOMB WEEK your after your. Upwards of 081,000 in purses, prcnrluml and awards, together with the attraction the Island people and track hold for them, brings together the fastest trotters and paoers in the Maritimos. It must be true, for year after year people as far away as California plan their holidays to see it.

For those with slightly loss speed there is the Junior Free For All, purse $700, and $600 classes for 2.18, 2.20, 2.22 pacers; $500 for 3.20, 8.80. 2.23 and 229 paccrs; 0000 purse for _2.19 trotters: $500 11'1"" l" 2.24 and 2.28 trottcrs, also a Four Year Old Futurity Trot and Pace that will be worth at least $600. Some of the above classes will till to over-flowing and will have to be split and raced in divisions. '

For tho driver who scores the most points the Macdcnald Tobacco Company of Montreal has donated a sterling silver tro- phy known as the British Conlola Trophy. To the owner of the horse breaking tho track record of 2.0559 will be given $50. also $50 to the owner of the horse breaking the track trotting reoord

of 2.01%.

Competent and experienced oftlcials will handle the meeting and the fairest and most generous t. tment will be given to every horseman. It is this knowledge that has year after year made Old Home Week entry lists the envy of tracks throughout the length and breadth of Canada.

New Management

At the close of lost year twelve outstanding stock rollers, professional and buflnommon purchased the controlling inure“ in the Charlottetown Driving Park and Provincial Exhibition Association, held by tho thou President, Lt. Some of the above have been for years tho moat prominent exhibitors of livo stock and it was largely because of thotr inter. oat in improving the Exhibition that they became identified with it. Early in the season plans were made to improve facilities‘ for the showing of iivo stock and when the Fatr opens for Illdglrg‘ on Tuesday ' , August 12th, a large new show ring with plenty of costing accommodation will be available for the difler- mt breeds of cattle. Facing it will be the horse ring.

In order to accommodate the great numbers of cattle two now barns with concrete foundations have been built and (Expect- ations are that every inch of space will be utilised not only for the housing of cattle but also for the horses, aheep, swine and poultry. The latter will be shown in the magnificent poultry building bullt two years ago and its judging pavilion will be nu]. lied for display purposes. These are but a few of the changes on the main grounds. -

The race track has been rebuilt and a wide ditch made lndde capable of draining the track quickly after the hcavielt rain storm. The track has been wired for night racing but due to a shortage of equipment it has not been possible to hold a meeting as yet.

While harness racing and vaudeville have their thousands ol devotees there are other thousands who get their enjoyment on the MIDWAY. There will be found the newest in rides and entertainment, carefully selected by the master showman William I’. Lynch. Ills name has been synonymous with entcrt-alnmcn‘ fun for everyone, old and young alike. Every year Mr. Lynch goes to tho largest centres, New York and Chicago. and purchaser new equipment, discarding the old. Today he heads the largest travelling group operated by one man in Canada.

Included in it are nine mechanical rides, four new acts and amusing features not shown before to local audiences. News that "Bill" will be back this year assures all visitors to Old liomg Week that tho Midway will be tops and that good clean fun for you and yours is in store for you.

The only unpleasant feature that has marred Old Home Week and Provincial Exhibition in the past was the difficulty of recur- lng passage from New Brunswick and Nova Scotla to the Garden 0f tho Gulf. This year that will be eliminated with the world's largest ship of its kind, the magnificent ‘Abegweiv, plying be- tween Cape Tormcntlno and Borden, with the present carlerry Inhtlnr- M Caribou.
