Each year the UPEI Debating Society takes on Holland College in the MacDonald-Reid Debate. The debate is sponsored by UPEI Alumni. The debate follows a slightly different format than the UPEI debaters normally follow. The debate is prepared with the topic agreed upon by both sides in advance, so that some research may be done. Each school alternates in hosting the event, with it taking place at UPEI this year. The UPEI squad has held the title for the last three years and are anxious to continue this streak,
