Farquharson und Stewart Heard From —They Have “Located.”’

By yesterdav’s mail Premier Farqubar- 800 received a leiter from bis sou, Mr. RK S. Farquharson, who with Mr. Theo. Stewart, of West River, left here for tbe Klondike in Febroary last. The letter was written on the 20 h November, from the towe of Stewart, atthe mouth of the Stewart River,75 miles from Dawson, and covers some twenty-seven pages. They made an exci lient trip from |'e+lin, Jand- ing without accident aud in good order and condition.

The two have decided to remain at Siew - art, which is atown of eome 200 inthabi- tauts. ‘They have bu lt two houses -a store and adwelliag—aud have also taken up five gola claims about eight miles up the Stewart River.

The miving claims they have acquired are exveeding!y veluall >, sod promise well. Messrs. Farquharson and Stewart were the sixth to arr-ve on the ground efter the gold was discovered, aud they at once

bought the Sixth, sevenwn aol eighth claims. They have since acquired two more claims Since then sbout twenty miles of the ground has been

taken and new claims are being staked every day. A great many ioainers are coming down from Dawson, and the in- dications are that the population of Stewart

will be largely augmented by the Spring.
