A LarRGe number assembled at the Rooms of the Catholic Literary Union, Prince Street, last evening, to hear and participate in the discussion on ‘‘ The advisability of reducing the City Council to five members, elective by the whole City.” The discussion was exceed- ingly interesting, many strong arguments both for and against the reduction being ad- vanced. At the close of the debate a vote was taken, and it was decided that the Coun- cil should not be reduced.
