Food Rationing Eased In Britain

LONDON. Nov. 1 —- lReuters)— Food Minister John Strachey to- night announced lam-eases in the rations c-f candy, sugar and fats and the ending ~of rationing for all kinds oi jam and marmalade.

Strachey told Parliament that the rationing of cheaper sweets - under two shillings (40 cents) a pound - is to end in the new year. Meanwhile the ration has been increased from 12 ouncds to c-ne pound a month. Rationing of the more expensive candy which uses scarce ingredients such as fats and cocoa powder will be con- tlnued.
