Vancouver (CUP) — Student council at the University of British Columbia are another council consid- ering restocking Car- ling O’Keefe products.

UBC Student coun- cil voted overwhem- ingly March 4 to re- move Carling’s name from signs it erected a year ago in its student cen- tre advising students of that company’s South African — links. But some aparthied groups say their boycott of the company is not over yet.

Council decided to erase Carling’s name from the signs after the Toronto- based Roth- mans Inc. sold its 50.1 per cent interest in the brewer to the Australian conglomer- ate, Elders IXL.

But Vancouver lawyer Za- yed Gamiet, who is also a member of the Anti- aparthied Net- work Committee, said the organization will not call off its official _ boycott of Carling un- til it confirms that El- ders is free of any South African links.
