The proclamation will give forms! effect to the warning conyeyed by Chamberlain } to Krager some time ago.

The Rhodesia field force, five tuousand strong, is to be commanded by Sir Fred- erick Carrington, whose mission it will be to prevent any Boer trek from the Treue- vaal into British territories to the north of the Limpopo river.
