puss M. LOUIS! MACCOUIRIY lier many friends learned with dgep regret of the death of M. Louisa Maccoubrey at her home III New Glasgow on Thursday. Aug- usl second. She had been ailiiill for some months. and despi tend- or care and nursing she failed to mow any improvement.

Miss Maccoubrey was a daugh- ter of the late R. Y. and Mrs. Mac- (Toubrey (nee Elizabeth Younker) gnd was one of a family of ten eluidren. four girls and six boys. all of whom predeceased her ex- gepi one brother H. A. R of New Glasgow. The sisters were Mary Alice. Mrs. J. H. Simpson, former- ly of Bay View. Prince Edward Island and the Misses Susie and Melinda. Her brothers were David Iitrtck, William Herbert and ltrhard Andrew. all of whom died when children; also H. A. W. who up to the time of his death con- lucied a large mercantile business gl Sydney, N. S.. and L. D. H. who was with his brother in Sydney for some time before opening a gore in his native village New Glasgow and H. A. it. who also spent some time in Sydney and later becnm Assistant Postmast- sr uith his sister in New Glasgow more he now resides in the old homestead.

lilsl Maccouhrey had been the efficient Postmlatress at New Glas gnw for the Past forty-four years. and in 1953 was granted a medal from the Queen In recognition of nuhful and loyal services for twenty-five or more yeara- She was known and respected by a very wide circle of friends: a gift- ei cunveraationalist she took great pleasure in recalling the scenn and memories of former days. and the fulness of retrospect as an. aarneat of things to come. she was an extensive reader and an- loyed the uplift and fellowship of good literature. A woman with firm religious convictions she in- listed on what to her were the assic fundamentals of human be- ies. She had a broad sympathy. Ifill her loyalty and fidelity to her trends was strong and steadfast. Her love and devotion for the mem- ocrs of her immediate and most tm.eworthy. Patiently and with ronstant v' " she ' L T over and nursed hsr aged mother during her declining years. and in many occasions did aha stand guard with kind aoiidtuds over her oroihers and sisters when they were laid aside through illness. The Cemetery at New Glasgow was her special interest and for :he past seventeen years she was the Secretary - Treasurer. Much tredit is due her for its improve- ment and maintenance. Only four years ago a presentation was made to her by the surrounding districts in appreciation of her nnttring and helpful services.

On Saturday August fourth a Iirae auemb' oi ,,mpathlsing friends gathered at the home to pay tribute to a neighbor whom they held in high eamm. The ser- vices were conducted by Rev. W. l. Mac-Leod a lifelong neighbor snd friend of the family. He was assisted by Rev. Bryer Jones of the Christian church, New Glasgow and Rev. E. A. C. Haley of the Csvendlsit United Charge-
