The printing presses and all other equipment, with the except- ion of the office furniture. have been removed from the Pioneer, Building in Summersidc which has been purchased in the interests of the seven dairies which are con- sidering amalgamation.

It could not be learned yesterday whether or not the equipment has been sold or whether it is to be stored for future sale. Special meetings of all these dairies will be held on September lath at which time the draft of a proposed not under which they will operate will be presented to the share- holders for their study and con- sideration.

Mrs. Elmer Baker, led the meeting which op- ened in the usual manner. The regular routine of business was carried out and lunch was served by the hostess. assisted by the committee.

The worship service was con- ducted by Mrs. Mac Dixon. The theme was "Christian Steward- ship," and hymns sung were 356. 362, and 366. Prayer was offered by Mrs. H. Baxter and scripture readings were given by Mrs. M. Bell, Mrs. J. Roizerson. Mrs. Gor- don willett and Mrs. Elmer In- men. Short prayers were offered by several of the members.

The business period then fol- lowed. The minutes of the last meeting were presented. approved and signed. Roll call was answer- ed by fourteen members and there were also four visitors. Mrs. Hom- er Provencher was welcomed into the society as a new member.

Plans were discussed for the 'rha.nk-offering service to be held in October. The meeting closed with the Misrpeh Benediction. Lunch was served and a social time spent. Looking over the teachers as- sembled at the Summerside local convention this fall. one might get the impression that the male school teacher. at least in the rural schools. was in danger of getting to be extinct like the dodo. The preponderance of females over males is always pronounced in rural schools. of course. but never so much as seems to be the case this year. The reason for this may be that. though salaries for rural school teachers are not attractive for either sex, they seem particularly low in comparison with salaries given young men in other pursuits.

We don't suggest for a minute that this growing majority of fe- male teachers will cause a deteri- oration in the quality of instruc- tion in our rural areas. on the contrary. it may well improve it.
