This was done in accordance with the good old onstem which requires that the bridegroom who is first married in anew chureh shall re- esive so suitable s mark of the favor in which marriage is held by the Church. On presenting the gift Mr. Morrison said « few warm werds of ¢ ugratulation, to which’ Dr. Blanchard replied as well as cou'd be expected —under tlie circumstances.
