' Our Panthers Are Panting '

Things don't appear to

be working out too well for the Varsity teams this wi—

nter. The hockey team has been having it's Share of' troubles as they are play— ing.inconsistant hockey. One time they defeat a team that is rated highly and then turn around and blow a game to a team that lost ten games in a row. How do you explain the inconsist- ancy? On paper, the team look good, it has two ex— perienced goaltenders, an experienced defence corps, and an inexperienced for- ward unit. One reason is the inability for one of their utop defenceman, Donnie Murnaghan, to make the road trips.

At home, spirit is at a maximum, but on the road something is lacking. This team may not be good enough to beat St. Mary's but they have the capability to fin— ish in the top four.

However, if they don't get off their butts, and work together as a team,

not as a group of individ— uals; they will find theme selves pulling up the rear. This weekend the Panthers have a chance to redeem themselves as they play the UNB Red Devils in Fredric— ton. They will be hard pressed, however, as the

Red Devils outplayed‘them completely the last time they met. So let's go Pan- thers, let's win one just for the hell of it.

The basketball Panthe ers seem to be completely

hopeless. The Panthers have lost five of their six games, most of these by wide margins. There will be no hope for the Panthers this year. Lack of height and inconsistency seems to be bugging the Panthers.

them off. Bill Robertson, has to be classed as the outside shooter. When he is on, he is one of the best in the league but he seems to be inconsistant. Maybe the Panthers can put it all together and pull out a couple of games this weekend as they host ST.F. X. and Dalhousie.
