Council Board that a Slaughter house owned by Mr. Brydges was in a very filthy condition, and that tbe owner had refused, or neglected, to have the filth removed. Upon motion it was or- dered that immediate action be taken on said Re- port, with the view of removing the nuisance complaived of —Ordered that Policeman White, guilty of getting intoxicated when on duty, be dismissed from the Service.—Matters relating to the Fire Department were then deliberated upon; during which Cvuncillor Beer observed that it would be necessary to give a name to the new Steam Engine about to be imported for the Fire Department. Several names were then spoken of, among them that of the Mutual, sug- gested by bie Worship the Mayor, scemed to avet general approval. City of Charlottetown, as follows:

It shall be lawful for any Police Officer or Con stable to apprehend ou view, or by command of the Mavor, or « City Councillor, all Vagrants, that is to say, all loose, idle or disorderly persons, whom he shall find Lying, loitering or wandering, either by day or by night, in any field, yard, highway. whart, or other place; and all prostitutes, or other veraous, found lying lodging or sleeping in any Coa shed orether building unoccupied, or in the open air, or in or under any wagon or other vehicle
