It took a. jury just 38 minutes yesterday to bring in a verdict of not gullly in the trial of Frank Arsenault of Howlan, R. R., in thc Supreme Court at Summcrsido who was charged with having carnal knowledge of a girl under 14 yeerl of age.

Four witnesses testified yester- day ln the final sitting of the two-day trial. For the Crown there were Maurice Guernier and Claude Nicholson and for the defence the accused himself and his bro- ther, Anthony Arsenault.

In his charge to the jury Chief Justice Thane A. Campbell nd- vlsed that they could not, in law, bring in n verdict oi guilty of carnal knowledge but that they could, in law, bring in n verdict of guilty of attempted carnal knowledge or of indecent nssnult.

The Attorney-General, Mr. W. E. Darby, K.C., rcprcscntr-d thc Crown and Mr. J, S. lJcsRochcs, K.C., represented the zlccuscd.

A marriage of considerable in- terest took place in Sumimemide on Monday, December 12th, when Mary Teresa Arsenault, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amde Arsenault. was married to John Robert Mur- phy. of Quebec City. at 8 eon, in Si. The bride, who wore traditional white, and carried a large bouquet of deop red roses, was given away by her father. The bridesmaid, Irene Rogers, wore a chermiing mauve gown and carried a bouquet of yellow carnations. The groom. who is stationed at the airport in St. Eleanor-is. wore the uniform of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
