Oo Saturday last Meser2, McKinnon & McLean shipped a carload of machivery, including boiler, vats and fittings, to We'- ‘ington Station for the Egmont Bay Dairy Co., which they will have in opera tion on the 15th inst. The building was cntracted for by Messrs. Schurman. j Lefurgey & Co,, and built by Mr. Perry of Egmont Bay, and is now about completed. It is located on the north-west corner of ; the road, in the beautiful Acadian settle- } ment of Abram’s Village, and gives the} village an ivcreased business air.

The sare firm shipped oa Monday an- other carload of dairy factory supplies, including one of their boilers, cheese pres’, vats. ete., toSourie for the East Point Dairy Co. This factory is built at Lakeville, East Point, near North Lake, and isin one of the most thriving and beautiful spots on P. E. Island, the de- light of the pleasure seeker and the fisher- man, who love towhip the streams for trout. Visitors from the United States and parts of Canada spend their holidays each eucceeding summer in the vicinity of this factory, whieh will help along the | Elmira Branch Railway next summer, as nothing else attracts visiters like good bathing, good boating and good fishing, and easy of access.

Thisa fetory will be run by the Govern- ment this summer, under the management of Mr. Dillon, unless unfortunately it may happen that Laurier may come into power, and then each and every iudustry will have to stand alone until crushed out by the policy of the Laurier-Cartwright administration.

By playing their game too openly, they are defeating their own object. The present combination will convince people of what has long been suspected, that the patrons are merely a part of the Liberal organizatior, which it suits Grit wirepullers to run un- der a false name. The Liberal members for Outario were practically under Mr. McCarthy’s leader-hip last session, so that the fusion of the two forces will surprise nobody. But what have the Liberals of this Province to say about the openly avowed a!liance between Mr. Laurier and Mr. McCarthy ? And, what is more to the point, what do the self-respecting men of all parties think about it? What hope i- there of a combination of such diverse elements settling anything? Mr. Laurier wants a commission. Mr. Me“arthy is opposed to it. Mr. Laurier is in favor of remedial legislation asa last resort. Mr McCarthy is opposed to it, in any ev. nt. Mr. Laurier says the Remedial Bill did not go far enough to g've the minority re- lief. Mr. McCarthy says it went too far and they ought not to have any relief Remedial legislation is the only question on which Mr. McCarthy has aay standing before the people of this country, and there is not one side of it on which he agrees with Mr. Laurier, except that he wishes to defeat the Government. Mr Laurier has condemned in strongest terms Mr. McCarthy’s attitude towards his race and creed, yet for the sake of gaining powe! he is prepared to join hands with him Mr. Tarte and Mr. Martio are agreed on one point, and only only—thev wish to get inio office. If they once get there, there is wo doubt that Messre. Laurer and Mc Carthy, as well as Messrs. Tarte and Mar- tin, would resume the congenial occupa
