Bostoxw Fire.—The large six etory brick building on Trinity place, Boston, opposite the Art Museum, occupied by the Architectural and Engineeriag Depart~ ments of the Institute of Techuology, and known among the students as tle architec- tural building, was badly dameged by fire on Tharsday afternoon. The blaze is eaid to have been caused by the explosion of a ketile used by plumbers. There were about 1@6 students in the building at the

Opere!.wsHip.—Notwithstanding the muddy streets and the threatening weather the Oddfellows of this city turned out in good numbers, and headed by the Citizens Band, paraded to service in the Baptist Chureh yesterday morning. The address, which was delivered by Rev. Mr. Corey,

was a splendid presentation cf the duties of man to bis fellowman, aad was listened to with the greatest attention by the large j congregation present. On return to the Lodge room,a vnaminous vote of thanks was tendered the Rev. Mr. Corey for his very practical and eloquent address, and also te the choir for their splendid music, —

A Srravce Accmpent.—Fires have curious or zins sometimes, but one which occurred at Lonviers the other day should rank among the most strange. A horse had been washed with paraffine to cure it of vermin, and wae left enveloped ina rug. Apparently the animal became restless, and in pawing on the stone»paved floor

produced sparks which cansed_ the petroleum to ignite, for the etable was discovered in flames. The prompt

attendance of the “pompiers” soon quelled the blaze, but the horse wae fornd to be dead and very much burned by the fire, whieh had beyond doubt originated from the cause stated.—Le Journal, Paris.
