DIED.

At North Lake, on the 8th inst., at the advanced age of 83 years, Phebe, widow of the late Stephen Rose. The deceased was well and deservedly respected by all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance, for her many deeds of kindness and charity, who never turned away the poor empty or tlie traveller without being fed. She leaves « family of sons and daughters, and a number of relations and friends to mourn their loss of a kind mother and a quiet and obliging neigh- bor and friend. Her remains were followed by « long procession of friends’ to her last resting place at West River Baptist cemetery, and there laid by her late husband, who passed to the better land four years ago. “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.”

Pakis, June 13.—The three foreigners arrested yesterday for hooting at President Carnot were released to-day. Their arrest was simply a precautionary meaaure to pre- vent injury tethem atthe hands of the people. No importance is attached to the affair.

1. Breeders or owner: of horses desirous of otfering their stock for sale will enter same with Secretary on or before the 1h day of June next. Accompanying each entry must be name, parti-

| culars of breeding and ‘‘ owner's description” of

animal, all not to exceed 100 words.

2. $2.00 in cash or post offic: order must accom- pany the entry for each animal. which money will be taken for an “ entrance fee.” and the fur- ther sum of $3 00 must be paid before admission of horse to sale grounds as a guarantee of sale.

3. The total cost of selling each animal, in- cluding entrance fee, will not exceed 5 per cent.

4. Allanimals will have free accommodation at the grounds and stabies, with bedding, for one day before sale and the day of sale at the care and risk of the owner, on which days they can be shown free on the track. All fodder to be provided by owner.

5. At the Anction Sale a competent Auctionser wii! sel}, whose clerk will receive and pay over purchase money.
