Livestock Director Dave Pea- eock tells me they really hope to stamp out the warble fly com- pletely in this province. And that reminds me that the ma- terial for application for warble fly control’ is now in the hands of a kev man in every district on the Island. In some cases two school districts are joined toge- ther for purpose of handling this eampaign. In the others there is a man in every. district.
The application isa simple matter. You just mix the mater- ial with water, according to the simple instructions the key men will give, and pour the mixture along .the backs -of the animals.
The cost is nominal. It works out to-approximately.seven.cents per one hundred pounds live. weight of the animal. But in any ease the cost per animal 4d not require any more than animals of that weight.
Last year a campaign treated every available animal in the area west of Portage, and the results were said to be most satisfactory. This year the goal ts to cover every district in the
province that is East of the Por- |
tage area.
