A8 white as the snow that cov- ered all the ground. You know, shadow is a very small person, so slender that he can 'sllp easily into a hole that is not much bigger than a Mouse would use. ohatiorer the R95 Squirrel is a. small person. as you know. too. so is his cousin, Striped Chipmunk. But where they con go Shadow can follow. It is for this reason that among small folk of the Green Forest and the Green Meadows no enemy is more ax-end. ed than Shadow the Weasel.

slender. He is bigger than another cousin, Billy Mink. and Billy is big- ger than shadow. It is fartunlite that they do not all live in the same neighbca-hood because there is no love between these cousins. Spite loves the deep woods of the Great Mountain. He doesn't like water. Indeed, he dislikes it. You will us: find spite in swimming. Billy Mink loves water and you seldom find him far from it. He is a wonderful swimmer. He loves to catch and eat fish. Spits loves to eat fish, hut he never would have any if someone else did not catch them for him.

Little shadow the weasel is at home wherever he may be. He loves to visit henyards. There he gets. in great mischief by killing hens and ohickem. He is ectlv at home armmd the buildings of Man but he is just as much at home in the Green Forest.
