We learn from the Chronicle that a young man named Wm. Forsythe. 20 years of ago. was crushed to death lit the Lawrencetown Gold Diggiugs, on Tuesday. while excavatin in a sand baolt. It appears that while filling his barrow. some distance within the narrow funnel, the arch or top suddenly gave way and precipitated about twenty tons of sand immediately upon him. Prompt assistance was’on' hand. but three quarters of an hour had elapsed be- fore the body could be cxtricatcd, and life was extinct. lie was a Scotehmau by birth. and nephew of Mr. Woods, of Lawrencetowu.——1[c. A singular spectacle was witnessed on Christmas day.
