But perhaps it is not too much to hope that the more enlightened among our present MPs may now sense the need so approp- riately highlighted by The Guardian. The need is to make Parliament into the great forum for the discussion of the import- ant issues of the day, which it ought to be.

There is a conflict of interest here, and this will continue until the Canadian public shows a more intelligent and active con- cern about what goes on on Par- liament Hill.
