Ffiday morning you will first .99 the Royal Party when they pass along Prince Street. Guides and Brownie will be lined along lhe west side of Prince Street ironi Grafton Street to Richmond Street, and on the, north side of Richmond Street from Prince Street to Church Street. In the afternoon. you will march in a body to the Experimental Farm where a special area has been set aside for you. It is here that the Princess will present Gold Badge Awards to some of our Guides who have been fortunate enough to win this coveted high- est award in Girl Guiding.

His 5,000-word address. ranging over the whole of Canada's defence production effort. touched briefly on the air-station program and the problems of building in the north "where the ground is either of hsrd-to-penetrate rock formation or lacks any solid foundation."

"Luck of water. iacl: of trans- portation facilities, and the fight against insects and cold are other hazards," Mr. Howe said. 'tStili, we are pushing ahead with our program at a satisfactory rate."

Now producing Sabre jet fighters, Canadair soon will be also turning out T38 Beechcraft trainers for the American air force and T33 Jet trainers for the R..C.- A F., employing 18,000 persons.

2. The United States was negot- iating to purchase a "large num- ber" of mobile early-warning radar sets which Canada is developing and producing. It was the "best piece of equipment for the specific purpose at present in production anywhere."

3. Canada is doing "pioneering" work on atomic energy. to supple- ment the work of the United states and the United Kingdom. She is specializing of Arctic warfare. prob- lems of radio transmission in Northern Canada and defence against atomic, chemical and bio- logical attack.

,4. Currently. Canada's defence spending - on a per capita basis- equalled annually about 827.000.- 000.000 worth of defence spending by the United states.
