I have just finished reading this Week's edit— ion.of the Cadre and I must say that I am very dissappointed with some aspects of the paper.
I would like to comment first on the article by Louise Mould. I have been a student here at UPEI for three years now and I'll be the last to say that there is nothing at ALL good about it. We certain— ly don't have the facili- ties or the experience of other universities but I think we give it one helluva try.
*Louise talked about people making promises. Is this any worse than someone being friendly at election time and then start back stabbing when they are elected. She has also implied that the Student elections are a popularity contest. I agree that they may but I think

Students,have_raised complaints about such mat— ters before but they have had little success with ge- tting anything done. You can complain to the Stud- ent Union but they have ac— cepted an attitude that they are nothing but a glo- rified social committee and they won't try to be any— thing else. Maybe the new Council will realizelthat as the elected represent— atives of the student body, a primary respons- ibility is to stand up for the student's rights, as small as they may_ appear to those elected.

I don't want this letter to sound like a childish response to someone who has nothing better to do but I hope to bring to light some of the circ—
umstances. The article in the Cadre was the second piece of garbage that was written by the same author. What I am saying is that if anyone of you have
anothing good or worthwhile
to say about this organi- zation,at least be const- ructive in your criticism or else keep your ideas‘ to yourself because I for one am getting damn fed up with it all.
In regard to your grandstand play on the front page, I complement you. It was very impressive but I only wish you had

what lays behind the hea— dline. We have lost_four good people from council. Sure there are some who will say that it is a rule and it must be obeyed but man has fought against rules and regula- tions since his beginning if he thought that the morality was lacking.
