LP reported that hummingbird sightings were down this past summer and the tree Swallows that nested the past few years did not nest in 1998.

Mink catching mummichog at Cymbria and dodging under ice cakes on Jan. 31 (RPh, JDM). Red fox at French Village on Jan. 30, Feb. 7, 8, 15, (HG) and at Fullerton's Marsh on Mar. 1 (DO). Skunk tracks under feeder on Feb. 26 after rain and wind (HG). Harp Seals on ice flows off Stanhope Beach on Apr. 3 (MJ&RM).
