Business Wins IRHL Title

After crumbling the great wall of marion hall the outstanding business team went on to rock the hurricanes in a close 11 - 0 victory to take home the cov- eted intramural recreation hockey league title. The business squad showed their superiority in of- fence, defence and goaltending as trevor marshall, the business net- minder, stonewalled the aggres- sive hurricane assault to record his first shutout of the season. The fabulous four (Larry Rob- bins, David Coffin, Greg Dea- gle, and Darren Noonan) assisted Trevor defensively and also ac- counted for one of the eleven goals. The other ten goals were scored by Terry Soloman, Bobby Cudmore, Lloyd MacDon- ald, Rudy Smith, Lowell Sherry,

and Carl Johnston. Unfortu- nately, Don Gorman, who played

a very strong offensive game, failed to beat the hurricane goal- tender with his awarded penalty shot.

Much to the dismay of the business team Mike Bustard anc Andrew MacDonald were unabk to attend the hockey final. Both Mike and Andrew were major factors in the destruction of the marion hall team; Mike played a extremely strong defensive game while Andrew rifled home the winning goal in sudden death overtime.

The business team was anx- iously awaiting the moment when

they would collide with the blan- chard hall knucklers. Unfortu- nately the first place knucklers failed to beet the underdog forth place Blanchard Hall Hurricanes, I guess they were finally begin- ning to show their true colors.

It was a great year for the business team as they beat all eight teams in the league and in return were only handed loses by three of them, two of which were defaults (do to the heavy exam schedules all studious busi- ness majors incur). Outstand- ing performances were given by all members of the awsome busi- ness squad throughout the year and with continued support of all members the future can only be bright.

The final night of Tourna-

ments was played on Tuesday, March 28 in the Panther Lounge with eleven of the sixteen qual- ifiers competing for the Labatt’s prizes. The tree successful partic- ipants were

This was the first organized tournament in the Lounge in a couple of years and was suc- cessful thanks to Labatts, Little Christo’s and all who sponsored prizes and participated to make it possible.
