Sir A. T. Galt also briefly eplied. The party went on to Ottawa. ;

In an interview with Simean McIntyre, one of the Canadian Pacific Syndicate who had just returned from England, he stated that there were ne Americans in Syndicate. He said it was part of the plan to bnild the whole road, and that Sir John Macdonald refused English reporters information on the subject until the matter was laid before Parliament. LONGON, Sept. 27. Steamer Ganopus went ashore in a dense feg. She was going at full speed when she struck, and it being high water she ran high on itocky beach and remained fast. A boat from: shore went to her assistance. It having been ascertained that the ship was not leaking telegrams were sent to Green- ock for tugs. Men from the shore assisted a lighten her. The Prince of Montenegro in an interview with Admiral Seymour expressed ,the strong- est conviction that his troops could take Duleigno unaided.
