Board, of Trade held a very en- joyable picnic and outing at the lovely property of Mr. Peter Pate on the beautiful mu River at Fortune cove on Wednesday eft- ernoon, July 28th. The members with their wives and fansllies were present as well a-s the members 0f the Summersido and Charlotte- town Boards of Trade. There was e very large turnout. There were several most enjoyable motorboat rides on the beautiful Mill River, which is undoubtedly one of the prettiest in the Province. Then the president of the Alberton and West Prince Board of Trad». Mr. Peter Pats of Oiueary, in his own witty and characteristic happy manner welcomed the large as- sembly and introduced the special speaker. .

The chief speaker was Lleut. Governor J. A. Ber-nerd, who in e. splendid address congratulated the members of the Alter-ton and West Prince Board of Trade for their initiative in calling this happy gathering together. He spoke about the natural stla-ao- tioru of the Province in general and, West Prince in particular. stressing the beauties of the love- ly M111 River, the hospitality of tho genial farmers and fishermen. ms well kept farms and lovely homes. The Govanor said that tho potatoes in this vicinity are further cdvanced than in either King's or Queen's Counties. He made mention of the proposed ferry service between West Point and Buctouche and sincerely hoped that it would come to a successful conclusion. and the great dream. which would mean so much to the Province in general and West Prince in particular. become e reality.
