Collins, on Wednesday, the 3d day of June,'IS40-—Mr. John Lane in the chair, for the purpose of forming an Agricultural Association ,——it was resolved that a Society be formed in the section of the country, to be called the Mann hon Farming Society, and be guided by the following ules and'Re ulations, viz: -

1st. ‘hat the‘object ofthis Society shall be to advance the general interest of 'cultnre, by the introduction of new seeds, improved implements of husbandry, the improvement stock, and embracing such other mea- sures of rural c onomyas may be deemed necessary.

2d. That llieaffairsof the Societ shall be regulated b a President, two Vice Presi ents, Secretary and Treasurer, and a Committee ot‘scven members, four to be. a quorum, who shall manage and transact all the business ofthe society, under the direction and controul of the general meetin , at which meetings the office hearers are to be annual! elected, and that only four of the members ofCommittee go out of office annually.

3d. That the Committee shall make a. minute and full report of the year's proceedings, and layfithe same before the general meeting annually. '

4th. That the Secretary shall assemble a meeting of the Committee as often as the affairs ofthe Society shall require; and that on the desire of any two mom ers of the Committee, who shall appoint the time and place, the ‘Secretar is to summon a meeting. -

5th. hat the Secretary shall he considered an execu- tive oflicer, and shall always have 1'vote in Committee, but to be under the controul of thfiiajority; thrcasting vote of the President or Chairman toLdecide in cases of equelit .

6th. That the Secretary and Treasurer be the person entrusted with the account bookp, and property of the Society; and that he shall receiee‘all written communi- cations on the subject of agriculture, and correspond with the Central Society, and other societies and insti- tntions ofa similar nature, on all subjects connected With the interests ofthe Society.

7th. That the Secretary keep a regular Cash Book of all moneys received and paid by the Society; and also aMinutc Book, in which he shall note all their transac- tions—such books to be patent to all members of the Committee. _

8th. That the‘ General Meeting be held on the First Wednesday in January, yearly, when the Secretary and Treasurer’s accounts he audited,and the report of the Committee received. _

9th. That each member pay Five Shillin s on his admission, and continue to pay the same annua Iy, each payment to be made on the da of the general meeting.

10th. That the foregoing llules he recorded in the Minute Book oftbe Society,and that the general meet- ings have power to add to or amend their rules as cir- cumstances may require.

Ordered, That the above be printed once in each of the Island Newspapers, and a cop of the Constitution be transmitted to the Central Society in Charlottetown.
