TORONTO ICPI Guitarist! Raymond Norris, 42. died in hos-l pita] Wednesday night 1' ro m in-' J‘uries suffered early in the day in a three - storey fall from an apartment building window.

Norris, 1 CBC television per- former, suflered a crushed skull.

A Saskatoon native, he came here from Vancouver three months ago.

Police described the fall as ac- cidental after questioning his 47- year-old wife. Marlene. The acci- dent happened after a party in the apartment of Eugene (Bud) Smalley, a television producer.

Police said Norris and his wife were waiting for an elevator in the hall of the apartment build- ing when an argument arose over whether he would drive his car home or take a taxi. Mrs. Norris told police that her hus- band pulled away from her when the elevator doors opened, trip- ped over a metal bar at the bot- tom of the window and fell through the glass.

He landed on the tar - and- gravel roof of the marquee over the front door of the building.

John Moseley, driver of the taxi Mrs. Norris had ordered, was standing under the marquee ringing the door buzzer whenj Norris fell. l

Police said Norris. who played on the TV show “PM Party." visited the Smalleys early in the evening while his wife attended a stockbrokers' party. She joined him at 2 a. m. and they left a few hours later.
