Paris, Sept. 5.—A scene of barbaric cruelty, organized to satisfy the Iust for blood which still seems to prevail in many parts of the south of France, is reported to have occurred at Bayonne at a bull fight on Tuesday, Aug. 15. The festivity was presided over by the consul of Spain, and there were present the mayor of th town and Senator Haulon, of the Basses Pyrenees. The sport soon developed into a mere butchery, disgusting enough to arouse the wrath of even the the public that attend bull fights. Bottles were showered down into the arena in token of the popular displeasure. It appears that the committee, with a view had only sent into the arena horses which were so old and crippled that they could barely carry a picador.
