He served 1'! terms in the United States House of Representatives before retiring from public office at the close of the Band Congreu last month.
He gave failing health as his reason for not seeking re-election.
A resident of Bay City, Mich, Woodruff represented the 10th congressional district. I-lis place in Congress was taken by nlford Cederberg, also a Republican,
Woodruff was first elected to Congress in IDI3 after having served as mayor of Bay City. He was sixth-ranking member of the House in seniority when he retired.
woodruff was the second veteran Republican legislator to die this year. Charles Eaton of New Jer- sey who served 14 consecutive terms before retiring last. year, died in Washington last month. Eaton was a native of Pugwash, N S.

The iiro-tier wedding cake was taste- fully decoruted with silver leaf and silver confection and topped with Talisman roses in a small glass container. It was made by the bride's aunt. Mrs. Birchfield Yeo, St. Eleanors, P.E.I.
A happy incident of the evening was a. long distance phone call from the bride's parents, who conversed mth the wedding party for a few moments and expressed their con- gratulations and good wishes to the bride' and groom. I
The young people received many beautiful and useful gifts as well as gifts of money at their wedding. Mr. Turner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Turner, Winsloe, and operates his own farm in that dis- trict.

WINNIPPEG. (OF) -A no-, mants-land of ice in the middle of Manitoba has become a hot spot overnight with fishermen and air- men locked in a wrangle over who hunts there.
The ice is a 240-square-mile patch along the east shore of Lake Manitoba. 55 miles northwest of Winnipeg. taken over by the de- fence department as a firing range for NATO pilots training at. the nearby Miicdonald R,.C.A.l". station.
