AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS - It has recently been announced. that Mr. Wallace Alan MIICIIILOSIIH at present is resident of N. S., was awarded two valuable scholarships at the University of Toronto. Mr. Macintosh was born in Charlotte- town in 1920 and was a resident here during the period that his father Dr. J. W. Macintosh was the, Medical Superintendent at Falcon- wood Hospital. The twenty fivcl year old student received the Mac-i Kenzie King scholarship in moclcrni history valued at 350000 and the. I.O.D.E. Scholarship valued nil 3200.00. 1

it is important to note that all these advances in science and icchnoiogy, when viewed in the light of faith. will lead us to a fuller knowledge of God, Who is the Source of all truth. For truth IS one. and there is no facet of that truth in the form of discoveries or inventions which does not show forth ihe.iniinlte Vfisdom of Him Who designed and executed the exacting plan which governs all phenomena of nature.

The order and harmony which are found to exist cannot but in- spire the thoughtful person wilh a faint shadow of that Divine wis-

dom. As these truths are unfold-I

ed. each new revelation should serve to increase our gratiiule in God for permitting in to share in His knowledge. For knowledge on the part of man is a participation in God's knowledge in the extent to which He will: to allow these truths to become known to us.

OBSERVE TRUE ORDER

Our proper use of these truths depends on our observance of due order. Just as a piece of iron will be attracted by one or the other of the poles of a magnet. so too, man is attracted either by the uncreai- ed Good outside himself, that is. God, or by the participated good within himself, that is, self. The choice between these two rests with us.

Yet, how often man fails to see the privilege that is his. and attempts to displace the true order of the Divine Plan with an order of his own making. it is lnevil. able that such a perversion or order should produce chaotic and disastrous results.

In spite of the strides he has made in science and technology, man has not come to a better knowledge of himself. All too often, man fails to understand himself properly because he suffers from the misconception that the source

of his discoveries and inventions:
