Mulock meved 4 second reading of the Civil Service Superannuation Bill.

As amended the bill provided that all who have not been ten years in the service or who may hereafter be appointed shall no longer be a subject to the provisions of the present superanupation system.

These employees are bereafter to have a deduc’ion of of five per cent. made from their salaries.

This money is tobe placed to their credit, and interest at five per cent. will be allowed ou it. The gross amount of such deductions, with interest, to be paid to the officer when he is retired or to his heirs if be dies in office.

Those who have been more than ten years in service may elect whether they shall retain the old law or go under the provisions of Mulock’s law.

It is also provided that av officer who has been Jess than ten years in the service may then, if he chooses to retire, claim @ gratuity of one month’s pay for each year of service,
