Tar: regular monthly meeting of the School Board was held last evening. The teachers repoxts show the enrollment for the past month to be lZSB—Boys 728; Girls 558; The percentage of attend- ance in' each of the city schools was 90— There were 128 cases of tardiness, 6 cases of truancy and 8 cases of corporal punish ment. Teachers made 124 visits and sent 28 notices to parents. There were 136 requests to leave school before the regular hour for closing and _97 fell below the grading average. Alter some desultorv discussion about the continuance of the Manual Trhining school, the establishing of a school of Domestic Science, and the system of cor — ducting the savings bank in the schools the meeting adjourned.

A VERY successful convention of the South King’s Sunday School District, was held in the Presbyterian Chnrch,at Peter’s Road Fridny afternoon and evening. Nine schools were represented and interest was manifested in the work. Rev. Ewen Gillies of Murray Harbor South, delivered avery able and instructive address on “How to Make Lesson Attractive." Geo. Moore of Murray River read an excellent paper on “Difﬁculties in School Work,’ At the evening meeting the attendance was much larger than at the (afternoon session. The president of the district, E.
