At Northeast Margaree, on Friday night, &man named Wim. Benten, said to‘ be in- sane, struck his wife with a horse shoe while she was asleep and fractured her skull. Benton then left the house and went to the woods... Search was made for him and he could not be found until Saturday evening when he came out and went to his brother’s house. He is still at liberty. His wife lies in a precarious condition but hopes of recovery are entertained. He has a family of four or five children.
