This year the winter Carnival Committee has decided to forego the tradition of making available passes which can be purchased by the student and will admit the bearer to all events. In place of these passes,tickets to the in- dividual events at Carnival are being sold.

Although unable to talk with the chairman of the Carnival Com— mittee, we did get a reaction from one of the members of the committee. She did not know why passes were eliminated this year,

but she was not in favor. She ad— vanced the idea that when two ev— ents are going on at the same time, students usually drop in to each For awhile. This is alright when there are passes,but one has to

pay the full price for each event under the present system.

Douring the first two days that the.ticket5' were on sale,the Ball tickets were moving briskly but the tickets to the dances were not selling at all. The students were probably not sure what events they were attending, so they were waiting to buy them at the door.

Reaction to the plan seems to be favoreble.'Some studentsI com- ments when asked the question "what do you think of selling tickets to the events at Carnival instead of passes for the whole thing?“

Norbert Moran: "I like it. I don't think anybody would buy passes. The only thing most people are interested in is the Ball, anyway."

iJohn Dionisi : " It's a good idea. I don't know if they'll .make any money this way, though."

Bob McIlhome: “ It's a pretty good idea, but the prices are ex- horbitant. Two-fifty for an Irish Beer Party?"

Mike Duffy : “Illike it. I'm not going to most of the things, so it works out better."

Bev Burns: "I think it's stupid. It‘s too expensive to buy tickets to everything."
