A, most enjoyable evening was spent at the home of Mr. and lvirs- Wm. Mill, Clermont, on Oct. 31st, when neighbors and friends scath- ered to bid them farewell on the eve of their departure for Malpequc. Mr. Mill was a member of the fam- ous 98th siege battery and spent four years in France and Germany. When the guests had all assembled, Mr. James Pendergast, acting as chairman, explained the reason for the friendly invasion and ‘called on hiss Helen Mill to read an address. The presentation of s beautiful table accompanied the address. Mu- sic and dancing whiled away the hours most pleasantly. A bountiful lunch was served by the ladies. , .,

The cargo of Prince Edward Is- land products was purchased by Henry Gauthier of the firm of Gauthier Bros. St. Pierre. For 85 years his father came here to make purchases for the Trench colony. The P. E. I. silver foxes are for the young merchant's up-tor-date ranch. He is s pioneer in silver fox ranching on tho French island and is optimistic over the possi- bilities of expanding the industry there.

Cattle and foxes are below decks on the Mary Pauline, comfortably housed. Produce is stored in ev- ery nook and cranny-in fact some of the crew's bunks are being used to store fox biscuits while large crates of vegetables, livo hogs, oc- cupy the upper deck, protected by tarpaulins.
