LAUNCHING NOTICE

On March 31, 1981 at the Newton School a crowd of some 60 persons gathered to witness the launching_of Watershed Red. This newest vessel to be floated upon the waters of Island literature is indeed a most commendable addition to the fleet. Skipper Kathy Martin and illustrator Connie Pound- Gaudet are to be heartily congratulated for their fine craftsmanship.

More than three years after keel—laying, Watershed Red was trimly decked out for her debut in gleaming colours of rust, green and black. Several Island dignitaries were present for the launching and appropriate remarks were addressed to those assembled. Despite the absence of the traditional twelve yoke of oxen and two span of horses, Watershed Red was successfully drawn from her blueprint as a manuscript to the launch site by the com- bined efforts of Ragweed Press and the University of P.E.I. We wish her godspeed. r
