FUNERAL SATURDAY —- The funeral of Mrs. Lemuel W. McKay was held Saturday afternoon from her residence at 83 Fitzroy Street. Services at the home and at the grave side in the People's Cemetery were conducted by Rev. T. E. Mc- Lennan, assisted by the Rev. G. Carlyle Webster. During the service at the home Mrs. W. G. A accident occurred at Argyle Shore on Friday morning resulting in the death from burns oi Nellie. five years old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Campbell. of that place. Mrs. Campbell was out of the limise at the time and the little girl's clothes somehow caught fire while she was playing. She ran screaming out of the house to her Ififldiflothtl"! place nearby. The fire had badly burned her hair and body before help could be ‘tballinsd. She died about six hours I

MISCELLANEOUS SHOWER — A very pleasant evening was spent at the home oi Mr. and Mrs. John Lawlor, Friday. Oct. 22nd. when a shower was given in honour of Miss Beatrice Sullivan who will soon become one of the season's happy brides. After the guests had assembled. Miss Sullivan we! escorted to the seat of honour which was tastefully decorated for he occasion by Miss Mary Lawlor. After a few remarks was passed by the chairman Mr. George Fraser, the bride to be was presented with many valuable and useful gifts. The heavy laden basket was carried in by Miss Doris Lawloi- and Miss Dora Jones. The gifts were then arranged on the table and the ac- companying verses read. The bride to be thanked all for their lovely gifts and invited them to visit her in her new home. After singing For She's a Jolly Good Fellow, the bride to be was bounced. A dainty lunch was served and the remaind- er of the evening spent in dancing music being furnished by Messrs Gallant Elmer Doirori and Connie LeClair. A pleasing feature of the evening was a step dance by Mr. Andrew Gallant. which was heart- ily enjoyed by all. After a very enjoyable evening the guests de- parted for their homes all wishing Beatrice much happiness. —S'SIDE MAN DIES-The death occurred at his home in Summer- side on FTIGBY. October 29th. of Joseph Belonis Arsenault a high- iv respected citizen of Summer- side at. the age oi 59 years. late Mr. Arsenault. who was born in Egmont Bay. the son of Maximo Gallant. had resided in Summer- side for the past 35 years and bv his kindly disposition and friendly nature made a host of friends who will miss him ereatlv. He was. for a number of years. employed at the Hoililn homestead Summer- side where his duties consisted mainly of caring flir the beautiful garden of flowers and in this occu- pation he had few equals. For a number of years he also was care- taker of the Park Island Fox Ranch and by his veers of experi- ence in the caring of foxes estab- lished a. reputation second to none in th line. He was a kind husband and father and the sincere symo athy of a large circle oi friends goes out to his bereaved widow and three sons. Ralph and Ernest who have been serving in the armed forces overseas since the outbreak of war. Fred at home. also his two daughters. Mrs. Matthew Arson- ault. (Rosie) and Mrs. John Arsen- ault (Delema). The funeral took place from his late residence on Saturday morning to St. Paul's Catholic Church. The Dali bearers were Messrs. Elmer Arsenauit.
