In the course of & reeent interview in Montreal Mr. Delisle seid,— I am atill a Liberal of the old school. I will be scandidate in the County of Port Neuf at the coming elec- tion. The expenses of the gcvernment are raised $16,000,000 a year, Just think ofthe enormous amonnt of money that is, and how many farms it would buy. It would buy 4000 hunared- acre farms at $400@ each, or it would buy 400,000 acres of land at $40 an ecre,whici means thatit would buy out 4080 of the beat farmers cf Ontario, for it is good land that brings $40 an acre. Of ordinary Crown lands, bought at $2 an acre thie great inerease in the annual expenditure of Canada brought about by the Liberals, would purchase 8,000,000 acres, That is to say they are spending ever and above what the old, government spent, every year, a large sum, enougk to pay for a bundred-acre farm each for 89,000 farw- ers.
