Aquatic —The boat race at Digby on Friday was won by Lovitt, of Halifax, with Ross second and Dalton third. A _ foul occurred between Lovitt and Dalton, and a protest was entered, which resulted in a division of the money.

Corrace Hosprrat.—The corner stone of the Cottage Hospital at Springhill, N. S., was laid on Wednesday by Mrs. John Byers, wife of Dr. Byers, in the presence of a large gathering. The hospital will cost about $7000 when finished.

Came Briguton.—The military in camp paraded to the First Methodist Church and St. Duostan’s Cathedral yesterday forenoon. Lieutenant-Colonel Irving, commandant of the camp, wasin charge of the contingent present at the Methodist Church. The two military bands were in attendance. Rev. Dr. Carman preached on the occasion. The con- tingent attending St. Dunstan's Cathedral was under the command of Captain Brenan, of the Souris Artillery. Rev J. P McGrath preached the sermon of the day. In the afternoon there was service in the Y, M. C. A. tent at the camp.
