Sir,—In a recent number of your daily you stated that tt was the duty of the Dominion Government te establish a Reformatory in this Province. Whether this statement was made by you with the authority of the Do- minien Government, J] knew not; if not, it was calcniated to deceive, as you have irequently advocated in your columns the necessity for such an institution, I think yon shonid have followed your assertion on that subject with seme proof, The necéssity for that institution remains, snd possibly your remarks that it was partef the duty of the Dominion Government to ertablish one in this Previ nee, may the delay en the part of the L egislative Council in not passing a vote on the numerous petitions sent te their honorable body, net to pass the Bill autheriz- ing the Goverument to dispose of the old Asy- lum building and its gronnds, so adimirabty adapted for the three purposes which are given as a heading to this communication.
