Pleads Guilty To Bigomy Charge

The new mail truck service was successfully inaugurated yes- terday morning when three CN. B. trucks left Charlottetown at approximately 855 a.m. for ter- minai points in King's County. Accompanied by Post Office and Railway officials, the service was reported to have "worked as smooth as silk," although the mail, express and l.c.l. freight shipments were admittedly light.

They will leave London Sunday to fly to Dorval Airport. Montreal, on a special flight aboard a 13.0.- A. C. stratocruiser. No- definite time for arrival has been set but officials say it will likely be around noon Monday.

Seamen Dies Suddenly

MONTREAL. Oct. 1 -(CP)- Dennis Macdonald. friend of sea- men the world over during his tenure as manager of the Cath- olic Sailors"Club here. died sud- denly last night. He was 51.

Mr. Macdonald died an hour after disc Ming seamen's problems at' a meeti g.'I-Ie was a veteran of the two World wars and took over managership of the sailor's club in 1946.

A native of P. E. 1.. Mr. Mac- donaid attended St. Dunstarfs University and joined the Canadian Field Artillery at the efge of 16. During the Second World War he was supervisor of the Knights of Columbus huts in Britain and the continent.

Mr. Mocdonald was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Mac- donaid of Vernon Bridge.

He is survived by his wife. the former Margaret Trainer of Char- lottetown and one son Gerard. Two brothers and two sisters also sur- vive. The sistcrs are Sister Assunta in Baltimore and Eileen in Boston. The brothers are Frank and How- ard Macdonald of Boston.
