Cape Breton Hien Heaps.—Cape Breton has many tall men, and Duncan Chisholm, of Judique, is ooe of them. He towers up to an altitude of six feet ten inches, and be ia not considered to be the tallest in the island as there is said to be a man pvamed McLean, who stands seven feet one inch, and a young man in Meat Cove equally as tall. A 7 Boutilier, of Bridgeport, is sup~ posed te be the tallest man in Cape Breton county, and he is but six feet seven inches and proportionally stout. Quite acontrast exists between these Goliaths and a George’s river man who is just three feet high.

The Canadian plebiscite must influence the British Royal Licensing Commiss.on now insession under Viscount Peel. The United Kingdom Alliance officials here are jubilant and say that the watchword at the annual meeting of the alliance on Oc~ tober 18th, will be “Forward, Canada has led the way.”
